After what only can be called an amazing season Jerry Hairhoger from New Galilee, Pennsylvania is the 2017 USA-EAST Big Rigs Series Champion. Hairhoger capped off his dream season with a powerful win at Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania during the Big Rigs FINALS in late September propelling his “Jerry-Atricks” Kenworth to the crown. A packed grandstand witnessed the moment at the Bloomsburg Fair – the largest Fair in Pennsylvania!

“Jerry-Atricks” is a 1973 Kenworth that has been fitted with a C-15 CAT engine with a single turbo charger. The engine was built by Jerry Ray Hairhoger, the son of the champion who is a diesel mechanic by trade.

The runner-up in 2017 was Jeff Lautenan from Jefferson, Ohio who drove his all new and powerful “Moody Blue” Peterbilt with CAT power through the season. Lautenan (L) is pictured with Hairhoger (R) in the winner’s circle at Bloomsburg – both obviously enjoying the moment.

These drivers and all other champions will be honored at the USA-EAST Awards Banquet to be held in Jamestown, Pennsylvania on Saturday, November 11th.

The Big Rigs Pulling Series has been sponsored by Cen.Pe.Co. Lubricants of Cleveland, Ohio and Wolcott, Iowa for the past sixteen years. New sponsors for the oldest modified semi truck series in the United States include MAC Trailer of Alliance, Ohio and Sanders Excavating from Ravenna, Ohio. Photos by Brock Johnson – Official Photographer of the BIG RIGS.
