THUNDER DOG was the Big Rigs Pulling Series Champion for 2006. The truck is owned by the Poor Boys Pulling Team of Franklin County, Pennsylvania and was built in the shops of Antrim Diesel in Greencastle, Pennsylvania. THUNDER DOG captured the first event of the 2006 season at the Mercer Raceway Park in Mercer, Pennsylvania and then grabbed runner-up placement at both Pittsfield, Pennsylvania and at Meadville, Pennsylvania en route to the truck’s first-ever Big Rigs Series championship.

A new V-8 Mack engine was installed in the cab-over Mack at mid-season of 2005 and the truck re-appeared on the circuit with a fresh approach to the pulling sport. In 2005 the single charger machine ran with both the Big Rigs and the Super Stock Semis. At the Big Rigs event at Marysville, Ohio at the end of July, THUNDER DOG finished second. And then Frantz backed up that impressive run with a trio of third place finishes at New Castle, Meadville and Bloomsburg. With the end of the Super Stock Semi division, the Mack V-8 was be fitted with a multi-charger system for 2006 and went on to win the championship.
THUNDER DOG Dave Frantz of Greencastle, Pennsylvania is the driver of a this Big Rig Semi that debuted in 2001. This cab-over Mack is powered by a multi turbo-charged 998 cubic inch Mack engine. Dave is one of the ace mechanics at Richard Price’s Antrim Diesel in Chambersburg – the builders of the truck.
THUNDER DOG was the winner of the 2001 and 2002 Super Stock Semi point race. Dave Frantz and Elson Martin took the big Mack semi to the championship on its first two seasons on the circuit. The truck is sponsored by RE-MACK of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, the aftermarket specialists in high-performance Mack V-8 parts and technology.
