At New Lexington virtually all semi trucks are welcome to participate however the ‘single charger’ will be checked. Owners do not have to become members in order to compete. There is no size limit on the turbo-charger. It should also be noted that both USA-EAST rules and NTPA rules permit any truck with an engine that is less than 855 cubic inches may run a dual charger set-up. This would include some of the earlier model Mack engines as well as the V-12 Detroit Diesel.
Any truck that is still licensed for the highway is exempt from the kill-switch and bell house blanket requirements. A hitching device that works directly from the 5th wheel and can be adjusted to 20” from the ground is required. The promoter will have hitches available for any owner who does not have his own hitch. Air bags are permitted on these street licensed trucks however it is illegal to add or remove air from the bags once the truck is hooked to the weight transfer machine.
All non-licensed trucks must comply with either USA-EAST or NTPA rules regarding safety equipment. A working kill switch is required and will be checked during the tech inspection process.
The Pit Gate at New Lexington will open at 2:00pm on Saturday. Each semi truck through the gate will be permitted free admissions for the driver and one helper. All other persons must pay the normal Pit Gate fee of $15.00. However if you arrive between 2:00pm and 4:00pm with a pulling vehicle the Pit Gate fee for the extra persons will be reduced to $10.00 per Pit Pass.
