MITCHELL PULLING TEAM LOOKS TO BE A FORCE IN 2010 IN THE "BIG RIGS" PULLING SERIES |
The Dale Mitchell Pulling Team broke out onto the modified semi truck pulling stage in 2002 and has shown steady progress to the upper levels of the division ever since. Mitchell, from Mount Gilead, Ohio, and his team mate Bill Rinehart from Fredericktown, Ohio have campaigned two different pulling trucks for the past eight years. But the real difference in the Mitchell Pulling Team is the fact that the team does not utilize standard trucks that have been the mainstay of the Big Rigs Pulling Series. Mitchell has chosen to use Freightliner and International cabs on his uniquely designed Big Rigs.
Mitchell's "Freight Rod" is a 1981 Freightliner conventional that is powered by a specially prepared Cummins engine. Bill Rinehart has driven the “Freight Rod” in the past and is scheduled as the main driver for the 2010 season. The team is going to break in a new pilot, Terry Frazier, in 2010. Frazier is a driver for the Mitchell Trucking operation. This truck was third at the Bloomsburg Fair in 2008 and came in third at the opening event of the 2009 Ohio Series at Eldora Speedway. The truck finished as high as second place in 2009 on the Ohio State Circuit.
In early September of 2009, Mitchell purchased the “Down and Out” International from Jeremy Walker of
Illinois . This truck was a regular with the NTPA Series in 2009 and ended the year in third place with NTPA. Mitchell drove the truck through September and October and n This beautiful International has a KT-600 Cummins under the hook with a huge single turbo-charger backed up by a Mack 18-speed transmission. After taking ownership of this awesome machine, Mitchell grabbed two third place finishes on the OSTPA circuit - one at the Delaware County Fair in Delaware, Ohio and the other in Dover, Ohio at the Tuscarawas County Fair. Perhaps his most important event in October was a third place finish at the USA-EAST ‘Finals’ at the Bloomsburg Fair in Bloomsburg , Pennsylvania .

For 2010, the Mitchell Team has joined USA-EAST and Big Rigs Pulling Series and look to participate in a number of the Big Rigs Series pulls this season.
