SCOTT IS FIRST AT BIG BUTLER FAIR

Richard Scott and the “Silver Bullet I” were the BIG winners in the BIG RIGS Pulling Series at the BIG Butler Fair on Saturday night.Scott, who was the 2008 Big Rigs champion and then ended as the runner-up a year ago in the USA-EAST Sanctioned division had been kept out of the winner’s circle until this event. The Palmyra, Ohio driver is the crew chief for the Fred Sanders’ Pulling Team of Ravenna, Ohio that is the owner of the two “Silver Bullet” Trucks. This event also marked the first trip down the track for the all-new “Silver Bullet II” that has been revamped at Francis Engineering in LeRoy, Ohio. Dale Francis drove the truck at the Big Butler Fair as he was trying to ‘dial in’ the new design.

Scott’s victory came after two straight events where young Kendra Rogers from Philo, Ohio had snared the victories with here “Unleashed” Mack. And while Kendra did make it into the pull-off with the “Silver Bullet I”, it was obvious that some engine damage has occurred during her initial full pull and she had to settle for 2^nd.

Third went to Joe Giulitto with “Sneaky Pete” a beautiful Peterbilt with a 525 CAT engine under the hook. Giulitto experienced a very difficult trip down the track as the truck tried to go out-of-bounds on two occassions and had to be slowed and re-powered in order to stay inbounds. Dan Adams had a very strong run with “Some Assembly Required” to finish fourth. Adams from Leetonia, Ohio has found some new power in the 998 cubic inch Mack and seems to be vastly improved over last season.

Neither “Mr. Nasty” from the Don Snyder, Jr. Team or Dick Bonner’s “Killer” have made it to compete with the Big Rigs in 2010. Both trucks are nearly complete after changes and the “Killer” did make a test run at Geauga in late June. It is anticipated that these two trucks will be back in time for the large number of Big Rigs hooks in the month of August.

The point race is still quite tight with Kendra Rodgers still holding the lead as she attempts to win her first Big Rigs Series championship.
